Sought after blue water cruiser rigged for singlehanded passages, with new Volvo Penta and Saildrive, an extraordinary design from the famed French manufacturer, Wauquiez.

Built by Chantier Henri Wauquiez in Mouvaux, France, and later acquired by the Beneteau Group, the Pretorien 35 was introduced in 1979 and grew to critical acclaim by Practical Sailor, Cruising World, and Sailing Magazine as a capable and comfortable passage maker.

Sailing Magazine lists the Pretorien in 25 great boats to sail around the world, saying, “It is a fine performer in moderate breezes and sails like a larger boat when the wind really pipes up. Those are the sailing qualities you look for in a true offshore boat.”

This model has a very clean new Volvo Penta engine, new Saildrive and seals from 2022, checking the most costly and important project off the to-do list. The interior floors are gorgeous, and with a rear quarter berth with a door, and a forward v-berth with a door, and two entrances to the head, it’s perfect for family cruising or an ocean crossing.
